Being alone with a woman in a shop and selling lingerie | Sheikh Abu Bilal hafidhahullah
Question:
If a woman enters a shop while the shopkeeper (male) is alone, is this considered khalwah? And if so, what is the solution?
Answer:
If the shop is located by the roadside where there are passers-by and both parties feel secure from Fitnah, he may sell to her and speak to her as is necessary without exceeding that. But if the shop is somewhere far away, isolated from the people, or he sells from within…

A scholar's Advice to males who teach Islamic sciences to females
Sheikh 'Uthaymeen rahimahullah was asked concerning a male teacher who teaches Qur'ān and other other religious sciences in his house to girls aged 13.
He said:
“What I hope from this man is that he teaches his wife, sister, or any other female Mahram in his house, then this woman teaches these classes which she has learned from him to those women who come to his house.
As for him teaching them while they are of…
Sheikh Albani rahimahullah said:
“If a Qurʿān teacher (Muqri') were to teach women over the phone and they recite to him and he hears their voices, then the ruling is as if he heard their voices from behind a veil without seeing their bodies.
Despite that, Fitnah occurs in both cases; whether he hears her voice directly without the presence of these means of transmission, or he hears her voice through these means…
Men teaching women without a barrier | Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Iftaa’ (chaired by Sheikh ibn Baz)
Question:
We have many Muslim Circassians here, and they practice many bid'ahs (innovations in religion). Praise be to Allah, we were allowed to teach them the matters of religion. Is it permissible to teach the girls, especially the adults? What are the conditions for doing so? Can we disregard some Bid`ahs, and advise them to quit them gradually?
Answer:
It is NOT permissible for a man to teach a woman while…
The Prohibition of free-mixing is general and not confined to university. However, free-mixing may be categorised into two types:
1. Avoidable free-mixing -> This is Haraam
2. Unavoidable free-mixing -> This is allowed with conditions:
a- one resorts to this due to a legitimate need
b- it has to fulfil the intended objective and not something probable
c- there are no better alternatives
d- one fears Allah to the best of their ability and takes precautions to avoid fitnah, such as lowering the gaze, self-restraint, etc.
e- this…
Free-mixed shopping centres | Sheikh 'Abdul Azeez ibn Baaz rahimahullah
Question:
Is it permissible for a muslim to enter a shopping centre whilst he knows that in this centre there are uncovered, (near) naked women and there is free mixing which is not pleasing to Allah?
Answer:
It is not allowed to enter this type of market except for one who orders with good and forbids evil OR for a necessity whilst lowering the gaze and taking precaution against all means of fitnah (temptations…
What the scholars say about free mixing | Sheikh 'Uthaymeen rahimahullah
Question:
Muslim women and their daughters in western countries where there are Muslim minorities face very difficult circumstances in that education and work are mixed environments. We are caught between two possibilities. Either we cut-off our provision, stay at home and beg and as a result sink to a very desperate material condition, or, alternatively, wear our Islaamic hijaab and study and work in those…
Here are some practical alternatives:
1. Work and save enough money for plane tickets and a couple of months' expenses...then look for suitable work upon arrival. You'll have to be content with minimum wage to start with and then work your way up.
If thousands of migrants are willing to risk their lives chasing the American/European dream even though it comes with no guarantees, why can't we trust Allah's…
1. Take the means (leave the nest)

2. Place reliance on Allah

Provision
A simple equation in theory, but practically it requires a great deal of Sabr (patience) & Yaqeen (certainty).
Allah said:
{أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن یُتۡرَكُوۤا۟ أَن یَقُولُوۤا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا یُفۡتَنُونَ}
“Do people think once they say, “We believe,” that they will be left without being put to the test?”
[Surah Al-`Ankabût:…
Allah says:
{ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ}
“Indeed, Allah ˹alone˺ is the Provider.”
[Surah Adh-Dhâriyât: 58]
Ultimately, Allah is the source of provision. Your job, your efforts and hard work, your intelligence...are all merely MEANS to attain Allah's provision. If Allah does not wish to provide for you, no means will be of benefit to you! That is why we have to combine between seeking riqz through Halaal…
So what other options are there?
Yes, we have to take the necessary means to attain provision, however the means are categorised into two types:
a: Halaal means -> these are permissible!
b Haraam means -> these are impermissible!
The Prophet ﷺ said:
((فاتقوا الله ، وأجملوا في الطلب ، ولا يحملن أحدكم استبطاء الرزق أن يطلبه بمعصية الله ، فإن الله تعالى لا ينال ما عنده إلا بطاعته))
“Fear Allah and seek provision…
I understand that mixed universities are haram but how does one go about making hijrah, considering a lot of Muslim countries won’t take anyone in unless they have degrees or certificates?
Answer:
Living in the West, this is the question that goes through many Muslims' minds. But unfortunately in answer to this question many resort to the Shaytanic principle, 'ends justify the means'
Means = Studying in a mixed…
1⃣. 'The ends justify the means' is NOT an Islamic principle
2⃣. Studying in free-mixed universities is Haraam.
3⃣. There are two types of obligations:
a. Individual
b. Communal
An Individual obligation is one which every single Muslim must fulfil, such as praying 5x a day, fasting Ramaḍhān, learning the fundamentals of the Deen, abstaining from Haraam, etc.
A Communal obligation is due upon the Muslim body…
Therefore, we say, if the foundation of this university that is based on disobedience to Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, was not established, what would befall the Muslims of devastation and destructio
And as you all know, if a Masjid Dhirar [see Surah Tawbah: 108] were to be established, it would not be permissible to remain nor pray therein, while it is a Masjid whose purpose is for the worship of Allah alone, without any partners. However, alongside that, it was established to cause harm, so due to this intent it becomes impermissible. So it has to be demolished from its very foundation. Therefore this…
