BENEFIT 53: Jarh wa Ta’dīl is part of the Sunnah and not the entire Sunnah!
Sheikh ’Abdulhamīd Az-Zu'kari ḥafidhahullāh said:
“Here I want to say some words for the students to memorise and to convey to whomever they wish. The Sunnah is not all about Jarh wa ta'deel, rather Jarh wa ta'deel is part of the Sunnah and does not make up the entire Sunnah such that the student/someone only occupies himself with Jarh wa ta'deel while he is ignorant of monotheism, ignorant of Creed, wages war…
((إذا بلغ الماء قلتين لم يحمل الخبث))
If water reaches 2 Qullahs (a large volume of water) it is not affected by impurities.
Ibnul Qayyim mentioned this ḥadīth with relation to dealing with the mistakes of scholars. i.e. Their mistakes are given no weight in comparison to the amount of goodness they carry.
Sheikh Yusuf Al-Jazairi ḥafidhahullāh clarifies in this clip that this is true with two conditions:

Response: He was chosen to represent the Saudi delegation to Morocco. He delivered a good lecture outlining some of the principles of Ahlus-Sunnah in dealing with extremism. I'm not sure if the Sheikh
Sheikh Muqbil rahimahullah would be requested to attend the meetings in the presence of the late Alī 'Abdullah Sālih and a group of people of innovation would also be present. Sheikh Yahya mentioned in one of his recent classes (I can't recall which) how he attended one of these meetings and he heard Muhammad Mar'ī As-Sūfī saying:
الديموقراطية نعمة
“Democracy is a blessing.”
As for the hug incident, it could be a…
It was brought to my attention that some individuals have began warning against this channel simply because it contains translations and references to Sheikh Sulaymān Ar-Ruḥaili.
The warning stems from the fact that Sheikh Sulaymān Ar-Ruḥaili has been disparaged for certain errors which have transpired from him.
My obejctive here is to shed light on the matter unbiasedly seeking the pleasure of Allāh, hence I am…
Sheikh Yusuf Al-Jazairi ḥafidhahullāh clarifying that doing Jam' (collecting and bringing together) different aqwaal of a Salafi in a particular matter is fine, and that this does not fall under hamlu
Question: What are the conditions of Khālid Ar-Rāshid and Sulaymān Ar-Ruḥaili?
Sheikh ’Ēsā Al-Muṣannif ḥafidhahullāh: As for Khālid Ar-Rāshid then he is a Takfīrī, Khāriji. As for Sheikh Sulaymān Ar-Ruḥaili then he is from the Sheikhs of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamā’ah, however, he has some issues which warrant criticism, like his praise and his being deceived by some of the Hizbiyyīn from the barmakees and others. I ask Allāh to rectify us and him. He is much better off than Khālid Ar-Rāshid. May…
What is the condition of Sheikh Sulaymān Ar-Ruḥaili?
Answer:
[He is] from Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamā’ah and from the scholars of Al-Madīnah. May Allāh Almighty keep him firm. We do not know him to have spoken ill of the Salafi centre of ḥadīth (Dammaj) and those affiliated to it, nor against our Sheikh, Al-’Allāmah Yaḥyā ibn ’Ali Al-Hajūri, even though many in that city (Al-Madīnah) became affected by the Fitnah of…
BENEFIT 45: Do not put the Manhaj of the Salaf aside because of the errors of SPUBS
My dear brothers and sisters. Again I keep looking at the situation regarding the contemporary Da’wah scene and without fear of reproach it is without doubt that SPUBS have run afoul with the following:
i. Mass Tabdee’ and warning against those who don’t tow their line even if they are scholars who ascribe and follow the methodology of the Salaf.
ii. Hysterical fanaticism to Shaikh Rabee’ regarding Jarh Wa…
Benefit 44: The difference between these three principles and when to apply which; (1) Judging by what's apparent, (2) assuming the best, and (3) ḥamlul Mujmal ’alal Mufaṣṣal ?
Judging by what's apparent and having good assumptions are both from the principles of Ahlus-Sunnah, whereas ḥamlul Mujmal ’alal Mufaṣṣal is one of the principles of the people of innovation and Taḥazzub.
To begin with, it's necessary to differentiate between judging by what's apparent and having good assumptions; that is, we continue to assume the best until something concrete comes to prove otherwise. So if you…
The difference between these three and when to apply which; (1) Judging by what's apparent, (2) assuming the best, and (3) ḥamlul Mujmal ’alal Mufaṣṣal.

Three examples pertaining to Ḥamul Mujmal ’alal Mufaṣṣal:
1. Imām Ibnul Qayyim held and strongly supported the opinion in some of his books that Paradise and Hellfire will eventually perish, and this is in contradiction to what is clearly stated in the Qur'ān and Sunnah that the inhabitants of paradise will abide therein forever just as the disbelievers will abide in hellfire forever. Many scholars spoke and wrote to refute Ibnul Qayyim despite the fact that he stated the…
Nonetheless, the Salaf considered this to be a misleading statement and attributed it to innovation, and it was on this basis why Imām Aḥmad declared innovation upon Al-Ḥārith Al-Muḥāsibi and Ḥussein
Likewise, Imām Aḥmad declared innovation upon the wāqifah; those who said 'The Qur'ān is the speech of Allāh,' and refrained from affirming if it is created or not. Among them was Ya’qūb ibn Shaybah, who was one of the great scholars of ḥadīth.
And anyone who studies the books of ’Aqīdah and the specialist books of Al-Jarḥ wa At-Ta’dīl, such as "Aḍh-Ḍhu’afā" by Al-Bukhāri, "Aḍh-Ḍhu’afā wal Matrūkīn" by An-Nasā'ē,…
